Hello Beautiful Bride-to-Be!

As a professional makeup artist with years of experience in the bridal industry, I understand the importance of flawless makeup on your wedding day. Your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life, and you want to look and feel your best. That's why I'm here to share with you some dos and don'ts of bridal makeup, so you can achieve a radiant and elegant look that enhances your natural beauty and makes you feel confident and beautiful on your big day!

DO prioritise skincare: The key to flawless makeup is healthy skin. Start taking care of your skin well in advance of your wedding day. Cleanse, tone, and moisturise your skin daily and exfoliate regularly to ensure a smooth canvas for your makeup. Don't forget to drink plenty of water and get enough sleep to keep your skin glowing and radiant.

DON'T go for drastic changes: Your wedding day is not the time to experiment with a completely new look. Stick to a makeup style that enhances your natural features and makes you feel comfortable. Avoid drastic changes or entirely new style choices that may not reflect your personal style or make you feel like yourself.

DO opt for a natural and timeless look: When it comes to bridal makeup, less is often more. Aim for a natural and timeless makeup look that enhances your features without overpowering them. Neutral shades like soft pinks, peaches, and browns are great choices for a soft and romantic makeup look that complements any wedding dress. Opt for a lightweight foundation, and use concealer to cover any imperfections while still letting your skin breathe.

DON'T forget about your hair: Your hair and makeup should complement each other to create a cohesive look. Ensure that your hair and makeup work together harmoniously and avoid hairstyles that may clash with your makeup or overshadow your features. If you're wearing a statement hairstyle, consider keeping your makeup more natural, and vice versa.

DO have a makeup trial: A makeup trial is a must for any bride. Schedule a bridal trial with your makeup artist well before your wedding day to discuss your vision, try out different looks, and make adjustments as needed. This will help you avoid any surprises on your wedding day and ensure that you are happy with your final bridal look.

DON'T skip waterproof makeup: Tears of joy are a common occurrence at weddings, so make sure to use waterproof or long-lasting makeup products to avoid smudging or melting throughout the day. Opt for waterproof mascara, eyeliner, and a long-wear lip colour to ensure your makeup stays put and looks fresh from morning to night.

DO pay attention to your brows: Your eyebrows frame your face and can greatly impact your overall look. Make sure to groom your brows well in advance and avoid over-plucking or shaping them too differently from your natural shape, as it can alter your appearance.

DON'T overdo the highlighter: A little highlighter can add a beautiful glow to your face, but be careful not to overdo it. Too much highlighter can make your skin look greasy or overly shiny in photos, especially with flash photography. Apply highlighter sparingly on the high points of your face, such as your cheekbones, brow bone, and the tip of your nose, for a subtle and natural-looking glow.

DO set your makeup: To ensure your makeup lasts all day and night, set it with a setting spray and/or a dusting of translucent powder. This will help keep your makeup in place and prevent it from creasing or fading throughout the day, allowing you to dance, laugh, and enjoy your special day without worrying about touch-ups.

As your bridal makeup artist, I am here to help you achieve a radiant and elegant look that enhances your natural beauty and reflects your individual style on your wedding day. We can work together to create a flawless bridal look that makes you feel confident, beautiful, and ready to say "I do!" Let's make your wedding makeup dreams come true!
